Strategic Planning

With all the customer, process, productivity and people challenges an organization faces, it's quite easy for a senior manager or owner to get distracted from their long term goals. The focus quickly becomes the short term where they get fully engaged in the day to day challenges of the business and chose not to step back on a regularly to review their mid-range and long term plans. For the long-term success of the business, this practice is unacceptable and has become too common in our current business environment.

As senior leaders, it's our responsibility to discipline ourselves and balance our time so that day to day. mid-range and strategic planning take place. Without a shared vision, a clear mission, key objectives and operating values, neither you nor your staff will be effective at making the organization successful. All decision making will have to pass through the senior leaders causing delays and internal frustration that could have been easily avoided. Customers may become disenchanted as well because of the hierarchical decision making process. Customers want suppliers that are easily to do business.

We can help organizations take their existing strategic plans and update them based on the current environment or create a new one. In either case, we can work with the senior management team and facilitate the process or work closely with the owner(s) in a more isolated environment. A key to the success of any plan is an organized communication plan. We believe that this is as important as the plan itself. We will offer a recommendation on how and what should be shared with the various levels within the organization.
