For the past 25 years, the goal was to build predictability & consistency in organizations so that the surprise or crisis of the day would become a non-event. Through process controls, financial models & key performance indicators, we were successful with most facets of the operation with the exception of being able to predict people's behaviors. Until the Profiles International solutions were added to our toolbox, one on ones, old performance reviews & discussions with managers/leaders were the best avenues to gain insight employees' skill sets and aspirations. The process was long, tedious and very subjective. In most cases, it came down to a consensus of opinions or intuition to make key hiring promotions and restructuring decisions. As I reflect back in my career, I would have preferred to utilize these tools.
